Long before most people knew her name, Ashlee With 2 E’s had a hunch about Megan Thee Stallion. She landed the rapper’s very first radio interview, and it’s still the moment she’s proudest of. Ashlee caught the radio bug doing college radio at the University of North Florida, then started an internship with iHeartMedia in 2014 and got hired before it was even over. Since then she’s done a little bit of everything: running the board, programming, picking the music, and hosting, across hip-hop and R&B, Top 40, rock, country, and hot AC. On the air, think of her as your funny, uncensored cousin… on your dad’s side.
Ashlee grew up in Washington State, and these days her free time goes to hiking, basketball, cooking, shopping, and all things makeup and beauty. She and Ulises share their home with two French Bulldogs, Dulce and Tango, who are treated exactly like kids. She gives her time to animal rescue, breast cancer awareness, youth mentorship, hurricane relief, and helping people coming home from prison stay on track. Her rotation is heavy on Nipsey Hussle, Drake, Dom Kennedy, Larry June, and J. Cole, and her first concert was a radio station show with Missy Elliott, B2K, Tyrese, and Bone Thugs-N-Harmony. The songs she never skips? *NSYNC’s remake of “Sailing” and Michael Jackson’s “Off the Wall.” Ashlee is a self-described nostalgia nerd who can talk for hours about the ’90s and early 2000s, especially Disney Channel Original Movies and old-school Nickelodeon. She’s the millennial who should have been an MTV VJ (rest in peace, TRL), and she runs on street tacos and iced cinnamon dulce chai.
