Soulja Boy is speaking out after he was released from jail, and his weapons possession charge was dropped.
According to a report The Los Angeles Times published on Tuesday, August 6, Big Draco posted an Instagram Story in which he informed his fans that he had been released from custody. He continued to celebrate his release by posting a video of himself enjoying his freedom. In the clip, the "She Make It Clap" artist flashes off his massive chain and gold watch as a song played in the background.
"First day out the can," he chanted.
Soulja Boy, born DeAndre Way, was the passenger in a Tesla that was pulled over in L.A. on Sunday at 2:30 a.m. for its dark tints. Police noticed a firearm in the rear seat of the car that was located near the suspect. Soulja Boy was arrested and booked for being a felon in possession of a firearm. The artist and the person driving the car denied owning the gun. SB was released from custody after he spent two days in jail. A rep from the Los Angeles County district attorney's office said they declined to move forward with formal charges due to insufficient evidence.
“The case was declined due to insufficient evidence,” the spokesperson for the D.A.’s office said.
The 35-year-old rapper dodged another legal case just a month before he's set to join Druski for the comedian's Coulda Fest Tour. Soulja Boy, BigXthaPlug, Young M.A, and more will hit the stage for the comedy-music show in cities around the country.
