No More Iguanas Falling From Trees - They're Adapting To The Cold

South Florida is no stranger to iguanas falling out of trees - we even saw it this year when we got that massive cold front over Christmas time.

But, experts are now saying that iguanas are adapting to the cold, and are less likely to "freeze" when temperatures drop.

Research suggests Florida’s falling iguana phenomenon could be rarer in the future — both due to climbing global temperatures from unchecked climate change and a shift in cold hardiness in the lizards themselves.

Iguana hunters have also noticed significantly less calls for frozen iguanas in the wintertime as well.

Have you ever seen an iguana fall out of a tree?
